Rising Energy Prices Driving Energy Renovation: The One-Stop-Shop Solution and the Role of Sectoral Actors

Date and time: November 22nd between 10:00-11:30 CEST

Overview

Renovating an existing building is often an exciting yet overwhelmingly challenging journey for homeowners. As such, a solution has been created to reduce the burdens often associated with renovation, which has gathered increasing support at the EU level with the growing relevance of reducing emissions and increasing energy efficiency related to the European building stock. This solution, known as the home renovation one-stop shop (OSS), offers an attractive alternative to the traditional way of undertaking renovation projects via an integrated solution where assistance is provided on multiple or all steps of energy retrofits by a single service provider. An OSS service thus transforms a cumbersome and complex set of decision-making and actions by non-experts into a single-entry, customer-friendly offer. But what is the role of OSS in the EU as rising energy prices drive the demand for home renovation, and how can various actors further facilitate and benefit from this movement? Join us as we tackle the topics of how the Russo-Ukrainian war is affecting energy prices and what can be done about this from various stakeholder perspectives.

Who should attend and why?

Cities, regions, energy agencies, EU-funded projects, public authorities, policymakers, financing institutions, building managers, and other stakeholders interested in setting up residential renovation programs or sustainable renovation practices within Europe are welcome to join.
